Este recipiente para carbón está formado por un cuerpo y por un mango bastante largo. Alrededor del cuerpo, cuatro columnitas hacen de patas. Entre las columnas, se observan unos salientes ligeramente cóncavos, que quizá servían para mantener un elemento en la parte superior, elemento que, por desgracia, no se ha conservado. La longitud del mango indica que este objeto no era un pebetero o un brasero, sino que se utilizaba, como se hace aún hoy en día en Jordania y en parte del mundo árabe, para contener y transportar carbón.
En Ayla, se descubrieron otros recipientes con salientes alrededor de la parte principal, pero su dibujo es diferente. Estos objetos eran probablemente imitaciones de objetos de bronce que tenían la misma utilidad. Al igual que ocurre con ciertas lámparas de esteatita, los motivos decorativos de los recipientes hallados en Ayla procedían quizá del sur de Arabia.
