Ce genre de bracelets en pâte de verre se retrouve sur les sites archéologiques du monde méditerranéen de toutes les époques. Il se présente sous la forme, connue aussi en fer ou en bronze, d’un simple anneau de section circulaire ou semi-circulaire. Transparents ou opaques, ces bracelets peuvent être unis ou présenter des inclusions de pâte de verre colorées. Les couleurs des bracelets trouvés dans les sites archéologiques jordaniens ayyubides, mamluks et ottomans étaient d’une grande variété : blanc, noir, bleu foncé, vert doré, vert brillant, orangé, rouge et brun clair.
Ce genre de bracelets se retrouve systématiquement sur les sites archéologiques du monde méditerranéen de toutes les époques, y compris en Arabie Saoudite. Ces bracelets étaient de deux sortes : certains de grande taille pour les femmes adultes, d’autres plus petits pour les petites filles. Cela indique que la société ayyubide, mamluke et ottomane portait une grande importance aux parures aussi bien pour les adultes que pour les enfants. Nous trouvons également quelques bagues fabriquées avec la même matière, également pour les femmes et les enfants.
Ils se présentent sous la forme, connue aussi en fer ou en bronze, d’un simple anneau de section circulaire ou semi-circulaire. Ils ne sont pas d’épaisseur régulière, ce qui indique une rapidité dans la fabrication et l’absence de précision suffisante.
Tantôt transparents, tantôt non, quand ils sont en pâte de verre, ils peuvent être unis ou présenter des inclusions de pâte de verre aux couleurs variées.
Les couleurs les plus répandues des bracelets trouvés dans les sites archéologiques jordaniens ayyubides, mamluks et ottomans sont le blanc, le noir, le bleu foncé, le vert doré, le vert brillant, l’orangé, le rouge et le brun clair. Cette grande variété montre la multiplicité des oxydes de métaux ajoutés au verre. Il est probable que l’utilisation de ces oxydes était en relation avec les minerais disponibles dans les lieux de fabrication.
Ce genre de parure n’a bénéficié en Jordanie jusqu’à aujourd’hui d’aucune étude détaillée.
