Este pebetero de forma cuadrada tiene una base con forma de «X» compuesta por cuatro salientes macizos en las esquinas. El mango es de corte cuadrado y se realizó de forma separada.
La decoración consiste en motivos aplicados, tales como tres salientes cóncavos que sobrepasan el borde del objeto. Tanto estos motivos como los lados se han perforado con una o dos filas de puntos.
Esta pieza es única. Se halló en una de las viviendas que rodean el complejo omeya de la ciudadela de Ammán (Jabal al-Qala). Este edificio era quizá la dependencia propiedad del imán de la mezquita situada en las cercanías. Este objeto, de sencilla factura, forma parte de un vasto conjunto de pebeteros datados de la misma época, que se han ido encontrando desde España hasta el este de Irán.
En el periodo omeya, Ammán era la capital de la región de la Balqa. Al igual que ocurre en la actualidad, la mayor parte de la población omeya se concentraba en el valle situado al oeste de Jabal al-Qala. Los soberanos omeyas transformaron este lugar en su residencia principal y aprovecharon para ello los vestigios romanos existentes. El complejo de la ciudadela de Ammán incluye zonas administrativas y residenciales, una mezquita, un mercado y unos baños. La característica más significativa de la zona administrativa (dar al-imara) es la gran sala de audiencias a la que se accede atravesando un arco de entrada y un patio.
