Pont califal de Pinos Puente

Bâti en pierre et sur de la roche, ce qui a permis sa conservation, ce pont possède trois arches, dont celle du milieu est plus large. L’arc, dont l’appareillage est radial, retombe sur des impostes en nacelles et les douelles de l’intrados, d’un mètre de longueur sont fixées avec des crampons.
Les piles présentent des becs semi-cylindriques face au courant tandis que sur le côté opposé leur surface est plane. La construction est faite de pierres de taille de grès disposées en carreaux et boutisses. Sur l’une des piles se trouve une chapelle, construite au XVIIIe siècle pour remplacer une tour défensive.
L’appareillage en pierres de taille du Pont de Pinos Puente est similaire à celui des murs de l’agrandissement de ‘Abd al-Rahmân II dans la mosquée de Cordoue ; toutefois l’absence de voussoirs horizontaux dans la partie basse et les douelles radiales (fixées par des crampons) permettent de supposer que le pont est probablement d’époque plus tardive. Torres Balbas en trouve d’ailleurs un autre exemple similaire dans l’agrandissement de la mosquée de Cordoue dû à al-Hakam. Il apparaît aujourd’hui relativement transformé.
